• Past Uses_ of the Site
According to information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(LOGE, 2015), the Site has been used to grow rice since 1937 or earlier.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
No septic systems are known to exist on the Site.
Proposed Septic System
Ms. Lawry indicated that no new construction is planned for the Site.
On-Site Septic Permit History
No septic system permits for the Site were identified at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
• systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 36 or
more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of agricultural land and rural residences.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, it appears that most septic
systems in the area utilize leach lines or leach lines with seepage pits; one system
utilizes leach lines with a sump. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this
report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected septic usage on the Site would be from any future development on
the Site; San Joaquin County would allow construction of a primary and secondary
residence on each numbered parcel. No new construction is planned.
•
LOGE 1608 Page 2
