• 4.0 SITE INSPECTION
Live Oak inspected the site on October 30, 2015. Photographs of the Site are
attached to this report as Appendix 2. The majority of the perimeter of the Site
was inspected. It was not always possible to inspect the ground surface due to
the presence of vegetation.
The Site is a dry rice field. An irrigation ditch crosses the northeast corner of the
Site.
To the north of the Site were orchards and a rural residence. To the west was
open, agricultural land. To the south was Grooms Road, followed by agricultural
land and a rural residence. To the east was Victory Avenue, followed by open,
agricultural land.
5.0 INTERVIEWS
5.1 Interview with Client
Arlene Lawry was interviewed by telephone on October 27, 2015. At this time,
she indicated that the Site has been in her family since the 1920s; she and her
. sister, Gwen Bender, have owned it since 1991. She stated that the Site has
always been used for growing rice.
Ms. Bender was not aware of any structures, wells, fuel tanks, chemical storage,
buried trash, dumping, or other environmental issues affecting the Site now or in
the past. She indicated that the Site is farmed by Will Schultz, and water is
provided by the Oakdale Irrigation District.
6.0 SITE DOCUMENTS
6.1 Environmental Health Department Records
Hazardous Materials Records
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department was contacted
regarding the Site address of 31345 East Grooms Road.
