LOctber 13,2004
NOA Project Number: E04122A
L In the 1937 photo, two or more structures are apparent near the center of the subject property at the
northern property line. The remainder of the property appears to be orchard and is crossed by an
irrigation canal or field road. Guernsey Avenue and all surrounding streets to the north are apparent.
LTo the south of Mormon Slough is crop land.
In the 1952 photo, the two structures appear to have been removed. Portions of the orchard on the
L property appear to have been removed or replanted. Three new structures are apparent on the adjacent
parcel to the east, and one new structure is apparent on the adjacent parcel to the west. Rural residences
are apparent on the land south of Mormon Slough. Highway 99 is now apparent to the west of the
Lsubject property.
In the 1963 photo, structures are apparent on the subject property in the current locations of the
L residences. The orchard has grown back where it was replanted. The adjacent lot to the east appears
to be disturbed soil, while several new structures have been placed on the adjacent lot to the west.
L The scale of the 1975 photo is such that it is not possible to make statements about the arrangement
of the structures on the property. The property and surrounding properties remain relatively unchanged
from the previous photo.
LIn the 1983 photo, many of the trees in the southern portion of the subject property appear to have died
off. The subject property and its immediate vicinity otherwise appear relatively unchanged from the
L1975 photo.
In the 1993 photo, almost all the trees on the southern portion of the property have been removed, and
L the trees at the north are visibly thinned. The subject property and its immediate vicinity otherwise G2'll
appear relatively unchanged from the 1983 photo.
The 2002 photo is much clearer than any of the previous years. In this photo, debris and a boat can be
seen in the rear yard of the residence at 3740 East Guernsey.
LThese photos are included in Appendix C of this report.
2.3 USGS Topographic Maps
LThe topographic quadrangle depicting the subject property is the U.S.Geological Survey,Stockton East,
California, quadrangle map. One map, dated 1968 photorevised 1987,was available at NOA.
LIn the 1987 map, the subject property is depicted as agricultural land with two residences along its
northern boundary. Both residences date to the 1968 edition. The surrounding block to the east and
L west has scattered residences as well. To the north of the subject property is a pink-tinted urban area
in which only landmarks are depicted. To the south of the subject property is Mormon Slough,
followed by more pink-tinted urban land.
L
3
L 0004
L
