Hayward, CA 94541
(5 10)247-9885 Facsimile:(5 10)886-5399 erasenvironmental(d)sbe@ Iobal.net
July 25, 2007
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202-3029
Subject: Work Plan for Limited Soil Investigation
13731 North Highway 88
Lodi, California
Dear San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department:
This letter is a work plan for environmental sample collection at 13731 North Highway 88 in Lodi
(the "Property'). The location of the Property is included as Figure 1 in Attachment A. The
purpose of the environmental samples is to provide data regarding environmental conditions in the
vicinity of a former diesel UST and pump which was located on the Property.
BACKGROUND
ERAS conducted a Phase 1 environmental site assessment for the Property dated July 17, 2007. As
part of the assessment the file for the Property was reviewed at the San Joaquin County
Department of Environmental Health. The file contained records that indicated that one 750-gallon
diesel UST was removed form the Property on October 7, 1995. A map included in the file shows
the location of the former diesel UST and is included as Figure 2 in Attachment A. A current site
map is also included as Figure 3 in Attachment A. No odor or soil discoloration was observed at
the time of the removal and no environmental sampling was reported to have been conducted at
the time of removal. Based on the size and location of the tank it is assumed that the pump was
directly above the UST.
The Property area is underlain by thick alluvial sediments derived from historic flooding of the
Calaveras and San Joaquin Rivers. These flood plain sediments are several hundred feet thick under
the Property area and consist of sand and gravel interbedded and admixed with clay and silt.
Bedrock beneath these sediments consists of interbedded claystone, siltstone, sandstones and
conglomerates that comprise the Cretaceous-aged marine Great Valley Sequence(Oakshott, 1978).
