0 0
13731 North Highway 88,Lodi Project 07123A
July 25, 2007
Page 2
The regional groundwater flow generally follows the topography, moving from areas of higher
elevation to areas of lower elevation. Based on regional topography, the groundwater gradient is
estimated to be to the southwest following the topography. However, due to the extremely flat
nature of the surrounding area, the flow gradient is expected to be highly variable and largely
dependents on agricultural pumping rates and seasonal fluctuation. There is no information in
regards to depth to first groundwater in the vicinity of the Property.
PROPOSED SOIL BORINGS
ERAS proposes one soil borings for collection of one soil sample and one groundwater sample (if
encountered). The boring will be advanced through the former tank pit. The location of the boring
is shown on Figures 2 and 3 of Attachment A is located through the former tank pit. The soil
boring will be advanced approximately 4 feet into native soil beneath the pit fill material. The soil
boring will be advanced as 2.5 inch diameter core to approximately 12 feet bellow ground surface
(bgs). Soil will be continuously cored for lithologic logging. One soil sample from the vadose zone
will be collected and one groundwater sample will be collected if groundwater is encountered and
analyzed for contamination that may have leaked from the fuel pump or UST. The soil will be
screened in the field using a photo-ionization detector, and based on the field screening the soil
sample from the boring will be selected for submittal for laboratory analysis. The Standard
Operating Procedures for soil and groundwater sampling with a direct-push rig are attached as
Attachment S.
SAMPLE ANANLYSIS
All soil and groundwater sample will be submitted to a California State-certified Environmental
Laboratory under chain-of-custody procedures. The samples will be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d) by EPA Method 8015with silica gel clean-up.
REPORT
A brief letter reportwill detail the field procedures, present the results of the investigation including
laboratory reports and boring logs, and interpret the data with respect to the RWQCB Environmental
Screening Levels (February 2005).
If you need additional information please call me tt510) 47-9885 or e-mail to gail@eras.biz
gEDi
Sincerely,
ERAS Environmental, Inc. qC J0yUEd' 1\
Jyam -_✓ 'k NO 5725
Gail M. ]ones, RG 5725
Senior Geologist
OF CA1.
