The Division supervises the drilling, maintenance, and
plugging and abandonment of oil, gas, and geothermal wells in California. The Division offers the
following comments for your consideration.
Per your email, the proposed project is located in T1 S and T2S/R4E. Presently, one well, API#
07700313, is within the current project boundary. Three other plugged and abandoned wells are
in or near the boundaries of the new community of Mountain House. Please refer the enclosed
map, a portion of Division Map 608. The wells and their approximate locations are summarized in
Table I.
Table 1
API # Operator Lease # S T R Lat Long
07720448 Natural Gas "Gulf Patterson" 1-32 32 1S I 4E 37.798448 -121.551070
Corp. of Calif.
07700313 Exxon Mobil "Wico-Bankhead" 1 34 1S 4E 37.796631 -121.524539
Corp.
07720378 Natural Gas "Phillips-Santucci- 1 4 2S 4E 37.789418 -121.543700
Corp. of Calif. These wells may need to be exposed for inspection and leakage testing prior
to construction activities. The Division recommends that the well locations be recorded on all
future maps related to this project with a 10-foot no-build radius. Also, a legible copy of the final
project map should be submitted to the Division. For additional information, please check the
Divisions website at:
The Department of Conservation's mission is to balance today's needs with tomorrow's challenges and foster intelligent, sustainable,
and efficient use of California's energy, land and mineral resources.
