L
L July 28,2006
NOA Project Number. E05167B
Lpercolation test results. Generally speaking,coarser-grained soils have much greater potential for
percolation than fine-grained or cemented soils.
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
4 6.1 Percolation Test Locations
r
A site map indicating the locations of the percolation test holes is included as Plate 1 in the appendix
of this report
r
6.2 Number of Percolation Tests
6. One shallow and one deep percolation test were conducted on the site, for a total of one shallow
and one deep percolation tests on the subject property.
6.3 Boring Preparation and Presaturation
A total of one shallow and one deep soil boring was advanced on the Site with a truck-mounted
deep rock augur rig on June 14,2006.
A 1.5-inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom was used to measure the drop of
water in the percolation test boring. Approximately 2 inches of"pea gravel" were placed in the
bottom of the open soil boring, then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel. "Pea Gravel"
Lwas then used to backfill in the annular space.
Presaturation of the percolation test holes occurred approximately 24 hours prior to the percolation
1 tests. The depth of water used to pre-soak was 12 inches above the bottom of the boring.
L
6.4 Condition of Borings After Presaturation
LAfter the 24-hour soak period, the presaturated holes were found to be intact and dry on June 15,
2006.
L 6.5 Percolation Test Procedure
Percolation tests were conducted for the borings on June 15, 2006 in accordance with the
requirements of the EHD. A percolation test with a duration of four hours was performed for each
hole. The last half an hour was observed by Ms.Amanda Boertien from the Environmental Health
Department.
L
i
L
7
L ,t44
f`
