The proposed General Plan Amendment would expand the urban community of French Camp to
include 3.68 acres west of Interstate 5. The applicant is proposing to use the site without the
availability of a public wastewater treatment system, which is inconsistent with the General Plan
policy stated above.
General Plan Water Supply Policy No 2: Volume I (op IV-65 8 66) states:
"The following shall be minimum requirements for water for the approval of tentative maps and may also
be necessary for other discretionary applications."
"Urban Communities: Public Water System. In Rural Residential designations, individual wells may be
permitted if parcels are two acres or greater and no public water system exists."
The proposed General Plan Amendment would expand the urban community of French Camp to
include 3.68 acres west of Interstate 5. The applicant is proposing to use the site without the
availability of a public water system, which is inconsistent with the General Plan policy stated above.
Although the applicant has stated that the underlying project will be trailer parking, the I-W zone permits a
wide range of uses that could be established at this location if the General Plan and Zone Reclassification
are approved.
Environmental Health
If these General Plan Amendment and Zone Reclassification applications are approved, further studies
may be required to evaluate the current nitrate groundwater conditions, potential impacts from the roofing
tile that has been utilized as road base, and any proposed future development. This may include
conducting a Phase II environmental study.
San Joaquin County GP-014, ZR-01-2\Silva
Community Development Page 4
