SIERRA DELTA CONSULTANTS LLC 14971 Highway aa, Lodi
4.0 LIMITED SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION
A description of methods and procedures used by SDC during the Limited Subsurface
Investigation is presented in the following paragraphs.
4.1 Field Operations
Three exploratory borings (GPI, GP3, and GP4) were advanced under SDC's supervision on
April 10, 2012, at the locations illustrated on the Site Map included as Appendix A.
Borings were advanced using a hollow stem augur(HAS) drill rig. Soil samples were collected
at depths ranging from 15' to 20' bgs. Each sample was analyzed for TPH as gasoline/diesel,
MTBE and BTEX.
Underground Service Alert of Northern California was contacted prior to advancing the borings
to identify any public utility alignments that may have been in potential conflict with boring
locations. Private utilities were identified by Ken Dolen of NORCAL. All borings were started
to a depth of 5 feet using a hand auger to verify clearance of private and/or unmarked utilities.
4.1.1 Baring Abandonment Procedures
Following sampling, borings were abandoned by placing neat cement inside the boring via a
tremie pipe. Once the level of the sealing mixture had reached a level of approximately one foot
below ground surface, redi-mix asphalt patch was emplaced and finished flush with existing
surface grade. San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department inspector Harlin Knoll
was on site to observe abandonment activities.
4.1.2 Laboratory Testing Program
All samples collected during this investigation were delivered under Chain of Custody (COC) to
TestAmerica, located in Irvine, CA.
1,1Mn"ED SUBSURFACE INVES]']OA"I ION 8 FACE,162B
05/01/2012
