During
the installation of the groundwater monitoring wells, a laterally continuous perched
aquifer was identified between approximately 80 to 86 feet bgs. The subsurface
investigation which entailed the installation of three (3) groundwater monitoring
wells was performed between 2/20/01 and 3/01/01. Purging and development of
wells was performed on 3/07/01 and groundwater sampling and gradient
measurement was performed on 3/10/01.
Benzene in soil concentration data obtained during this investigation was
integrated into the correlative data obtained during the installation of six (6)
shallow soil borings B-1 thru B-6 excavated on 8/12/97 and during the installation
of the 100 foot deep soil boring B-7 excavated on 6/26/98 and 7/01/98. This data
evaluation has verified that no benzene has been identified below sixty feet bgs.
No gasoline oxygenates were identified in any soil samples collected. Groundwater
sampling of the three (3) groundwater monitoring wells revealed five (5.0) ppb
toluene in a water sample collected from MW-2. No benzene or gasoline
oxygenates were identified in the groundwater samples collected.
