. 08 May 1995 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 95-0101 <br /> Page 4 of 4 <br /> used canisters disposed at a licenced recycling facility <br /> 4 2 SYSTEM MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE <br /> The following procedures will be performed for monitoring and maintenance of the SVE system <br /> 1 Monitor extracted OV concentrations using a photo-ionization detector (PID) OV <br /> concentrations will be measured on a daily basis during a 1 to 2 week start-up period After <br /> the initial start-up period, monitoring will be conducted on a weekly basis <br /> 2 Generated data will be plotted to track remediation progress The data obtained from the PID <br /> readings will assist in determining when to replace carbon canisters and drill confirmatory <br /> bonngs OV measurements will be collected from a sampling port near VW-1 and from the <br /> carbon canister output <br /> 3 Collect air samples on a monthly basis Aar samples will be collected from the installed <br /> sampling ports The samples will be collected in Tedlar bags, transported to a state-certified <br /> laboratory and analyzed for TPH-g and BTE&X in accordance with approved EPA methods <br /> • 4 When concentrations of extracted hydrocarbons have decreased to below significant levels, <br /> one soil boring will be drilled at the site to confirm the successful remediation of impacted <br /> soil <br /> 5 Standard maintenance on the SVE system will be performed on a monthly basis, as necessary <br /> 43 REPORTING <br /> Results of remediation activities at the site will be reported on a quarterly basis The following items <br /> are included <br /> 1 Remedial progress of the SVE system will be included in Quarterly Reports to the PHS-ET.-ID <br /> The report will summarize all data collected during the previous quarter and include results <br /> of all laboratory analysis The report will be reviewed and signed by a Registered Geologist <br /> 2 Upon completion of remediation, a Closure Summary Report (CSR) will be prepared The <br /> CSR will include a brief summary of all assessment and remedial activities performed at the <br /> site and will include a computer model of remaining impacted soil, if appropriate The CSR <br /> will be reviewed and signed by a Registered Geologists and submitted to the PHS-EHD <br />
