BOIL CONTAMINATION ASSESSMENT <br /> UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> LOCR$FORD MINI MART <br /> LOCREFORD, CALIFORNIA <br /> NQA PROJECT NO. 10-90-104 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Nations Groundwater Associates (NGA) has been authorized by Mr. Bob <br /> Phillips to submit this Soil Contamination Assessment Report <br /> describing activities related to the removal of underground storage <br /> tanks (USTs) at the Lockeford Mini Mart (site) (Figure 1) and to <br /> provide an assessment of soil contamination (if any) associated <br /> with USTs at the site. <br /> 1.1 Purpose <br /> The purpose of this report is to provide a description of <br /> activities related to the removal of four USTs at the site; provide <br /> an assessment of soil contamination (if any) associated With USTs <br /> at the site; and provide recommendations for additional <br /> investigative and/or remediation activities (if required) at the <br /> site. <br /> 1.2 Sc6pe of work <br /> The scope of work for this report includes the following <br /> activities. <br /> e Documenting the removal. of USTs at the site on <br /> March 21, 1990. <br /> o Collection of soil samples from areas adjacent to product <br /> dispenser lines and beneath USTs on March 21, 1990. <br /> u o Submittal of soil samples to a California-certified <br /> laboratory to be analyzed for benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEx) ; 1,2-dichloroethane (EDC) ; <br /> ethylene dibromide (EDB) ; and total purgeable <br /> hydrocarbons (TPH) by EPA method 8260 and tetraethyl lead <br /> by California Department of Health Services (DHS) <br /> methodology. <br /> s Design and supervise installation of the below- <br /> ground components of a soil venting system <br /> positioned within the tank pit excavation. <br /> o Provide an assessment of soil contamination associated <br /> with former USTs and provide recommendations for further <br /> investigative and/or remediation activities (if required) <br /> -� at the site. <br />
