f Project Description Tracy Material Recovery Facility and Transfer Station Expansion 30703 S. MacArthur Drive, Tracy, Califomia 95377 manufacturing process reduces greenhouse gas emissions from multiple phases of product production including extraction of raw materials, pre-processing and manufacturing. Additionally, by recovering organic materials from the waste stream, and having a vibrant composting and organic materials industry, there is an opportunity to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the indirect benefits associated with the reduced need for water and fertilizer for California's Agricultural sector. Mandated Commercial Rec lin c Five million metric tons of CO2 equivalent reductions are required statewide by 2020. This project proposes the convenience of mixed commercial recycling collection and processing to service the commercial sector. • Anaerobic Digestion (AM AD projects are to reduce two million metric tons of CO2 equivalent reductions statewide by 2020, where up to 90 facilities at 200 tons per days will be needed by 2020. Tracy MRF & TS will be producing organic feedstock from commercial food waste for AD facilities in the region. • Compost Use: The use of compost is to reduce 2 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent reductions by 2020. Green waste composting is already occurring on- [ site, and is proposed to be expanded to include food waste composting as well. • Renewable Energy: The use of renewable energy from 20% to 33% by 2020 is mandated to reduce 21.2 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent reductions LWI statewide by 2020.
