MacArthur Drive, Tracy, Califomia 95377
Household Hazardous Waste, Universal Waste, and Electronic Wastes
Household hazardous waste will be collected as part of the load check program at the
Material Recovery Facility, the Transfer Station, the Composting Facility, the C&D
Processing Operations, and the Inert Processing Operations. HHW, including latex
paint, used oil and oil filters, and antifreeze, would be stored during regular business
hours by personnel at a location within the MRF/TS Building in the method described
below.
The facility will not intentionally accept or store hazardous wastes, including batteries,
oil, paint, and special wastes, unless it has been approved to handle the particular
waste by the appropriate regulatory agencies. Unacceptable material that does
not pose an immediate threat to public health and safety and the environment will be
collected at the facility and segregated and handled and by trained personnel as part of
the load checking program in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and
stored on site at the household hazardous waste (HHW) storage area.
HHW will be stored for less than 90 days. Any
such items shall be handled and disposed of by trained personnel in accordance with
applicable laws and regulations.
The facility's scale personnel will be trained to screen incoming vehicles for presence of
unacceptable wastes.
