Project Description <br /> Tracy Material Recovery Facility and Transfer Station 6panslon <br /> 30703 S. MacArthur Drive, Tracy, California 35377 <br /> hazards and safety features are stressed. No employee is permitted to operate <br /> equipment until the employee has demonstrated proficiency in its use. <br /> Employees are trained in proper load checking techniques, including the screening and <br /> recognition of hazardous materials, including, but not limited to lead-based painted <br /> wood, asbestos containing material and CCA treated wood. <br /> Additional training is provided surrounding environmental controls utilized at facility, <br /> employee and public safety, fire safety, and emergency procedures to be followed. <br /> Annual review and refresher training ensures continued safe operations of the facility <br /> and compliance with regulations. Weekly "tailgate" safety meetings are held to reinforce <br /> training and gain employee feedback on potential hazards. <br /> Training records will be maintained and made available for inspection in accordance <br /> with other records, as noted below in General Recordkeeping Requirements. <br /> The facility maintains an Injury and Illness Prevention Plan, which is kept in the <br /> administrative office. <br /> Power Failure <br /> A diesel-powered generator is available on site to provide power to critical facilities, <br /> including electric pumps and controls for the fire protection systems. <br /> In the event of a major power outage, it is not necessary to cease waste transfer <br /> operations. Scales will be equipped with battery packs for short-term emergency <br /> operations. Waste transfer operations can continue uninterrupted during daylight hours. <br /> Mobile light towers, such as those used during nighttime construction activities can be <br /> rented from local rental companies to allow waste transfer at night, if necessary. Mobile <br /> equipment used in the transfer operations, and the waste collection trucks using the <br /> facility are equipped with lights for operations with limited lighting. <br /> No standby power generation will be provided for operation of the recycling processes. <br /> In the event of a major power outage, recyclable material will be stored.
