RECLAMATION PLAN- QX-99-02
George Reed,Inc.
Page Five
G. Contaminants: There are no potential contaminants applicable to this project other
than soil amendments or fertilizer used in the orchard. Off-site drainage of these
potential contaminants will be controlled by berms or slopes.
H. Waste Water: Waste water or possible contaminants do not apply to this project.
I. Water Impoundments and Diversions: Impoundment or diversion structures will
not be constructed within the project area.
J. Ore Processing: All materials will be processed at the existing processing plant
operating under a separate permit. This project will not increase production at the
processing plant.
K. In-stream Mining: In-stream mining does not apply to this project.
K. Other Information: This project would allow operator to continue sand and gravel
extraction in an area which has had mining activity for the past 9 years. The
processing plant has been permitted for the past 20 years. There will be no
substantial change from the daily operations as they currently exist.
III. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED RECLAMATION:
A. Subsequent Use(s): All disturbed land will be reclaimed back to farming capability;
proposed to be walnut orchards with solid set sprinklers for irrigation. All property
owners of possessory interest have been provided a copy of the proposed project and
reclamation plan.
B. Reclamation Schedule: Project is designed in two phases. Reclamation is
is continuous and concurrent with mining. Orchard will be planted in 20+/-acre
increments as excavation allows. All phases will be totally reclaimed w4hin twe
after- as indicated in Section II.B . Phases are shown on the
b
Reclamation Site Plan attached.
C. Post Mining Topography: Post reclamation topography, benches, roads, cross
sections through slopes, cuts, fills, original ground,post-mining surface, geologic
conditions, reclaimed surface and other pertinent features are shown on the
Reclamation Site Plan attached. Slopes will not exceed 2: 1 and stabilization should
not be a problem. Slopes will be seeded with resident hybrid erosion control seed
mix to control slope erosion prior to planting of orchard.
D. Impoundments: No impoundments are proposed for this project
