2.2 Proposed Development
It is proposed to split the Site into one 10-acre homesite parcel and three approximately
40-acre parcels. The parcel division is for estate planning purposes only; no change in
'Site uses is anticipated.
2.3 ToRQq
ra h
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as open land with
a-pond located along its southern boundary with the MokelurnneRiver. A:driveway.and
four structures are depicted near the northwest corner of the Site. The property is hilly,
approximately 100 to 161 feet above mean sea level, and grades down significantly
toward the .river to the south. Surrounding properties are primarily shown to be open
land; a gravel pit is located to the east, and an area of dredge tailings is located to the
immediate southeast, across the Mokelumne River. This map is included as Plate 3 in
Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
:Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1937,
1952, 1963, 1975, and 1983. Two additional photographs, dated October 1998 and
-March 2005, were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
In the 1937 photo, the Site appears to be primarily dry grazing land, with an area of / l
irrigated .pasture or crop land along the eastern side. Five or more structures are
apparent near the northwest comer of the Site, and a sixth structure can be seen near
the center of the Site. One small structure or object is located at the northeast corner of
the Site. Surrounding properties appear to be pasture land, with a few vineyards and
rural residences nearby.
In the 1952 photo, the structure near the center of the Site is no longer apparent. There
still appear to 7be five or more structures near the northwest corner. Dredge tailings can
be seen on the southern portion of the Site, as well as to the south of the Site across
the Mokeiumne River.
In the 1963 photo, the structure at the northeast corner of the Site is no longer apparent.
There appears to be a vehicle access point near the southwest corner of the Site
leading to the river. No.other significant changes.are.apparent.
LOGE1022 Page 2
