In the 1975 photo, the dredge tailings have been removed from the southern portion of
the Site; two ponds are now located in that area. A road crosses the Mokelumne River,
connecting the Site to the property to the south and leading to a facility to the southeast
of the Site. The adjacent land to the east of the Site now appears to be an orchard.
New rural residences have been constructed along Collier Road to the west of the Site.
In the 1983 photo, no significant changes are apparent.
In the 1998 photo, a structure or object is again seen near the northeast corner of the
Site, and one or more objects can be seen at the wooded ravine near the southwest
corner of the Site. The area near the northwest corner is Overgrown with trees so that
.most of the structures cannot be made out; it appears that two outbuildings are no
longer present. The road no longer crosses the Mokelumne River from the Site. The
adjacent land to the west now appears to be vineyard.
In the 2005 photo, the objects near the southwest ravine are no longer apparent.
Several structures can again be seen at the northwest corner. The Site and
surroundings otherwise appear similar to the previous photo.
These photos are included in Appendix 3 of this report.
4.0 SITE INSPECTION
Abigail Racco of live Oak inspected the site on September 24 and October 8, 2010.
Photographs of the Site are attached to this report as Appendix 2. The inspection was
limited by vegetation obscuring the ground surface throughout much of the Site.
Portions of the Site near the Mokelumne River were impassible due to heavy brush
cover. The interiors of the structures were not inspected beyond what was visible
through open doors.
The Site is predominantly hilly grazing .land with dry grasses and scattered oak trees.
An area of flat crop land is located along the eastern side of the Site.
The Mokelumne River defines the southern boundary of the Site, and the area in the
immediate vicinity of the river has dense vegetation, including large trees and
blackberry bushes. Two ponds are located on the Site near the river. Dredge tailings
were observed near the southeast corner of the Site. A diesel pump is also located at
the southeast comer; soil staining was not observed. An old packed earth foundation
and some concrete were observed near the southwest comer of the Site; some
concrete steps were also nearby.
The residential area of the Site .is .located .at.the northwest corner, near .the intersection
of Mackville and Collier Roads. A large stone house and a small wooden house are
LOGE1022 Page 3
