SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc (Live Oak) was contracted by Gerard and Marilyn Eger <br /> to conduct a Soil Suitability Study for their property located at 29000 North Mackville <br /> Road, Clements, California (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br /> The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil <br /> Suitability Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> The proposed project is a minor subdivision to split the Site into one five-acre homesite L� <br /> parcel, one 72-acre parcel, one 81-acre parcel, one 82-acre parcel, and an 82-acre <br /> designated remainder (Plate 2). No change in Site uses is anticipated. <br /> Site Description <br /> The Site, Assessor's Parcel Numbers (APNs) 009-180-07 and -08, is approximately 322 <br /> acres in size. The County project application number is PA-1100215. The Site consists <br /> of hilly grazing land with a 46-acre olive orchard. Two lakes, a house, two former <br /> chicken ranch buildings, a shop, a domestic well, and an irrigation well are also located <br /> on the Site. A recent aerial photograph of the Site is included as Plate 3. <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 190 to 270 feet above mean sea level (Plate 4). The Site <br /> topography consists of rolling hills. <br /> The San Joaquin County Community Development Department web site states that the <br /> Site is zoned AG-80, general agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 80 acres. This <br /> zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of <br /> commercial agricultural enterprises." <br /> Past Uses of the Site <br /> Based on historical aerial photographs reviewed, the Site has been grazing land since (Z , <br /> 1937 or earlier. A chicken ranch was present on the Site in the 1970s. An olive orchard <br /> was recently planted on a portion of the Site. <br /> LOGE 1126 Page 1 <br />
