Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
One septic system exists on the Site to serve the residence. An older septic system by
the shop has been destroyed, according to Mr. Eger.
Proposed Septic System
According to Mr. Eger, no new construction is planned for the Site at this time.
However, County regulations permit new homes to be placed the new numbered
parcels at some point in the future. Any new residences would utilize new septic
systems.
On-Site Septic Permit History
One permit related to septic systems for the Site address was identified at the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The permit, dated November 1969,
is for a new residential septic system utilizing a 1,200-gallon tank, two 100-foot leach
lines, and two 33-inch diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits. The permit is included in
Appendix 4.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately four square mile surrounding the property. Air
photo imagery from GoogleEarthTM was used. Each building cluster on the photo was
assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that six or more
septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of open grazing land and vineyards, with rural residences
located along Liberty and Mackville Roads to the south and southwest.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic systems in the areas 3.6
utilize leach lines and seepage pits. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of
this report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected septic usage on the Site would be from any future residential uses.
No construction is planned at this time. Septic system design should be based on the
On-Site Wastewater Disposal Standards (2003) or other engineering recommendations.
LOGE 1126 Page 2
