The area recently
became irrigated in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Agricultural production has occurred on, and
in the vicinity of the subject site since this time.
The property currently open, fallow land that had been planted in entirely in apples. These apple
trees have been removed and the ground ripped on the east side of the entrance road to the
property. No evidence of contamination was discovered during the ripping process.
There are no structures or structural improvements such as septic systems, etc. on the property.
From the 1970-1977 USDA aerial photo, it appears that there was some type of small
development near the center of the property, immediately north of Section 27, on Section 22. No
records were found on file at EHD for addresses in the 27000-30000 block of Mackville Road that
may correspond with any development on the property. An extension of Mackville Road connects
the property by easements.
/Two irrigation wells are located at the extreme western edge of the subject property(Parcel 009-
170-04),proposed to be Parcel 1. The site is surrounded by parcels that have been farmed for
many years in vineyard, pasture and tree crops.
As noted, the subject property is to be developed into wine grape vineyards, with possible
residential structures on each Parcel. The two on-site irrigation wells will provide drip irrigation
for the future vineyard.
As illustrated on the USDA Soil Map and the USGS Topographical Map, there is a large
depression or swale traversing east-to-west through the top one-half of Section 27, referenced as
Goose Creek. This is a natural drainage course through the property.
3.0 IDENTIFICATION OF ALL PAST AND
/ CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION
' §3.1 The information to complete this report was obtained through direct observation during site
reconnaissance, government agency consultation, aerial photo survey, or through interviews with
Mr. Burns and Mr. Bokisch.
Page-3-
Chesney Consulting
