SAN JOAQUIN FARM BUREAU FEdERATION
MEETING TODAY"S PROBLEMS/PLANNING FOR TOMORROW
February 2, 1995
San Joaquin County
Planning Commission Members
San Joaquin County
Community Development Department
Development Services Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Commission Members:
The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation submits to you this correspondence regarding two
separate agenda items for tonights (2-2-95) meeting. The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation
addresses both items from existing Farm Bureau Policy dealing with Land Use in San Joaquin
County.
VR-94-4
The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation in policy, urges your commission
to follow staff recommendation and deny the variance application. This request
can be simply stated for the reasons that this variance if allowed would circumvent
the homesite ordinance for ag zoned properties in San Joaquin County. Farm
Bureau directors have also raised the question if this application can be allowed
since the described parcel apparently is included in the General Plan new town
designation.
SA-93-42
Farm Bureau is very concerned about this application and its obvious
environmental effects on the areas groundwater and its potential for environmental
disaster in case of flooding of the subject property. Farm Bureau would hope that
if your commission does not follow staff recommendations to deny that the
commission would at least require a complete and thorough environmental impact
review of this project before allowing it to move forward.
Thank you for the opportunity to address both of these agenda items through this correspondence
and thank you for your attention to these matters.
Since
RUS NLA S
Director Natural Resources
POST OFFICE BOX 8444 • 3290 NORTH AD ART WAY • (209) 931-4931 STOCKTON, CA 95208
