SA-93-42 OF
THE CITY OF LATHROP PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The City of Lathrop is proposing to construct five percolation
ponds for the disposal of treated wastewater from a treatment
facility located within the City of Lathrop. The project site is
located south of the City of Lathrop, in the area generally
bounded by the San Joaquin River on the west, and State Route 120
on the north.
The Community Development Department has completed the
environmental review for the proposed project. The Initial Study
identified several potentially significant impacts that this
project may have upon the environment. Attached is the Initial
Study, which includes a detailed description of each of the
potentially significant impacts that were noted. Based upon
this, staff has concluded that it will be necessary to have a
focused Environmental Impact Report (EIR) prepared for this
project.
In order to proceed with the preparation of the EIR on the
project, an initial fee of $2 , 375. 00 is required in order to
prepare the Notice of Preparation (NOP) . This amount is then
credited toward the price of the EIR total. You will also be
responsible for the costs of preparing and administering the EIR.
As an alternative to preparing an Environmental Impact Report,
the following studies may be submitted. These studies should
discuss the impacts detailed in the Initial Study, and identify
appropriate mitigation measures where possible. Please note,
however, that should any impacts exist that cannot be mitigated
to less than significant levels, an EIR will still be required,
or the project will be denied.
