Project No.E8062.WTP Phase I Environmental Site Assessment/Lathrop,CA October 21, 1999
The application of metals and organochloride pesticides may have occurred, since the site has
been and is currently being used for agricultural purposes and these metals and organochloride
pesticide residues may be present within the surficial soil beneath the site.
4.2 Secondary Contamination Sources
For the purposes of this investigation, a search was made of seventeen (17) State and Federal
regulatory agency lists of contaminated or potentially contaminated sites, or properties where
transportation, handling, storage, and/or disposal of hazardous materials occurs or has occurred.
In accordance with recently adopted standards by the American Standard for Testing and
Materials (ASTM), (1997), approximate minimum search distances for the various lists were as
follows:
Search Distance from site (miles) Regulatory Agency List Databases
1.25 NPL, CORRACTS, SPL
0.75 SCL, CERCLIS/NFRAP, TSD,LUST, SWLF,
DEED RSTR, CORTESE, TOXIC PITS,
WATER WELLS
0.5 RCRA VIOLATORS, TRIS,UST/AST
0.38 ERNS, GNRTR
_ Details of the 17 databases that were searched are provided within the attached VISTA SITE
ASSESSMENT PLUS REPORT. It should be noted that listings reported without location data
were found to be more distant than the standard minimum search distance. In addition, some of
the databases consist of lists of handlers, transporters, and generators of toxic materials rather
than contaminated sites.
Out of all databases searched, four potential secondary contamination sources were identified
within 1.25-mile radius from the subject site. These sites are as follows:
• USGS Water well, located 0.1-mile west of the subject site. This federal drinking water
source is 135 feet in depth and has a static water level of 17 fee below ground surface.
• Frewert Road Class 1TI Disposal Site located at the western end of Frewert Road, Lathrop.
This site is a former Class III solid waste disposal facility.
`- • USGS Water well, located 0.62-mile east of the subject site. This unused federal drinling
water source is 92 feet in depth.
• USGS Water well, located 0.7-mile east of the subject site. This federal drinking water
source is 170 feet in depth and has a static water level of 21 feet below ground surface.
TEMUSEARCH, inc. Page 8
