In accordance with San Joaquin County
Development Title, Section 9-1105.2(d), the Environmental Health Division is requesting the
applicant conduct a septic tank usage/Nitrate Loading Study taking into consideration the
proposed usage that could be developed on this property.
In addition, because this property contained a poultry farm with 12,000 or more birds,
Environmental Health Division will require the study to look at the current soil conditions in
regards to the waste generated over a 50-plus-year time frame.
Environmental Health Division is also concerned about the groundwater quality in this area
related to nitrate,TCE, and arsenic levels. The proposed study will need to look at the current
water quality in this area and potential impacts of development on the groundwater. The
groundwater impacts of the Sharpe Army Depot contamination plume (TCE) will need to be
addressed for this site, especially if development will utilize groundwater for the underlying
project(s).
a
_11-01
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
