ratubes:4" PVC pipe extending to soil/effluent interface with 4" riser extending above the grass
east 0.5 foot, with a screw type cap. Both soil sampling tubes must be placed in proximity to
e.
D. SEPTIC SYSTEM OPERATIONALPARAMETERS AND COMPONENTS -
WEST LEACHFIELD (W.L.F.) AREA TO SERVE EXISTING OFFICE TRAILERS
SSS§3.7 The pressurized filter bed system for the Office Trailers will be comparable to the filter bed
disposal area for the new Office Building. An overview of the septic system operation is as follows: Influent
wastes from both Office Trailers will gravity into a dual compartment 2,000 gallon septic tank. The second
compartment will be the pump chamber with a duplex pump system within a Biotube filter vault to
pressurize the single filter bed.
W.L.F. SEPTIC TANK
The following calculations demonstrate septic tank capacity as was calculated for the E.L.F. above with a
pump-out interval of one year.
Septic Tank Capacity Based on Pumn-out Interval of One Year:
Recommended tank capacity for a potential pump-out interval of one year after complete build-out:
1.6(pump-out interval factor)(QAIE)x Peaking Factor(PF=2.5)= 1.6(150 gaWday)x 2.5 =600 gals.
Total septic tank capacity= one -2,000 gallon tanks.
Detention Time:
Detention Time=2,000 gal total tank capacity x 0.70(30%volume lost to sludge/scum accumulation)
2.5 (Peaking factor)x 150 gals/day(ADF)
Detention Time=3.7 days. The minimum acceptable detention time is 1.0 day.
Caution must be given to the buoyancy potential all of the tanks, due to the potentially high groundwater
table. Contents of the tank should never be entirely pumped out.
W.L.F.PRESSURIZED FILTER BED SIZING CALCULATIONS
Base Tank Capacity= 1,200 gal. ADF= 150 gpd
Leachline Equivalent Requirement= 1,200 gallons BTC+ 150 ADF x 0.225 Silt Soil Factor(SF)=304
lineal feet of leachline(LFLL). 304 x 3 (Sandy Silt Soil -Filter Bed Soil Factor)_
911 sq.ft. filter bed area required.
Proposed Filter Bed Area(Single Bed Only)=91 ft N-S long x 10 feet E-W wide =
910 sq.ft to be installed:
100% Reserve Replacement Area: This area is denoted on the Site Plans and is situated directly to west of
the primary disposal field.
19
Chesney Consulting
