Dust
It is not anticipated that this quarry will generate additional dust or air pollutants. The project will be replacing
an existing Agricultural Excavation Permit (GX-96-6). The materials excavated will be processed at the site
by a portable screen and/or trucked directly off the site. The response received from the San Joaquin Valley
Air Pollution Control District concurs with this conclusion.
Noise
There are no residents in close proximity to the project site. Also, this project is a conversion of the existing
Agricultural Excavation Permit. It is not expected that noise levels will increase.
Traffic
As previously noted, the proposed quarry excavation is replacing an existing agricultural excavation permit.
No increase in production levels are anticipated. Therefore, traffic volumes are expected to remain constant.
Reclamation
During the excavation process, the topsoil will be salvaged and stockpiled. Most of the topsoil will be coming
off of Fields 1 and 3 in Phase 1 and Phase 2. As excavation is completed, the stockpiled material will be
respread to a minimum depth of two feet.
San Joaquin County QX-98-21Torlai
Community Development Page 6
