Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205
SUBJECT: Minor Subdivision No. IVIS-90-79 (Beggs), SCH #90020283
Dear Mr. Larrouy:
I understand from our telelphone conversation about the project named above that
since it is the site of a former cattle ranch and the area along the river has been
thoroughly disturbed, you do not expect archaeological or cultural resources to be
found there.
A review of the statewide archaeological inventory indicates that there are a number of
recorded archaeological sites within several miles of the project site, but none in the
immediate area. I agree that a negative declaration is appropriate in terms of
archaeological and cultural resources. Please ensure that the project proponents are
aware of the sensitivity of the area and of the procedures to follow in case evidence of
burials is encountered. The enclosed pamphlet describes these procedures and
quotes the applicable laws.
Sincerely,
rinnGen r
al Assistant
Enclosure
