~ +SAN JOAQUIN FARM bUREAu FEdERATION
MEET/NG TODAY'S PROBLEMS/PLANNING FOR TOMORROW
April 2, 1990
RECEIVED
Mr. Richard Larrouy APR 41990
San Joaquin Planning Division
1810 East Hazelton SAN JOAQU N COUNTY
Stockton, ca 95205 PLANNING DIVISION
Dear Mr. Larrouy,
The San Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation appreciates the
opportunity to comment application number MS-90-79 , a minor
subdivision application to subdivide 324 acres into 7 parcels of 40
acres each and a 44 acre remained. We realize that this is
allowable under the current zoning.
It is our contention that the application is not consistent
with the intent of The General Plan, which is to promote and
protect agricultural lands for farming operations . In areas where
the soil quality is lower the minimum zoning is higher. In this
area the zoning of AG-160 or AG-80 may be more appropriate because
the lower soil quality (non prime) . There is no justification for
approving the application. It would be considered an avoidance of
the situation.
Thank you for considering our comment.
Sincceerely,
TYLER HAMMOND
Natvtral. Regources
Program Director
TFH: sg
POST OFFICE BOX 8444 . 3290 NORTH AD ART WAY . (209) 931-4931 . STOCKTON, CA 95208
