Community Development Department
PA-0500119
We appreciate any assistance the County can give school districts towards mitigation of the impact of
new development, to the extent permitted by law. It is conceivable that the current law regarding
school impact mitigation may change in the future to once again authorize counties to have greater
participation relating to school facilities, and we believe it is essential that the County retain language in
its general plan that "to the extent permitted by law" the County will require new projects to mitigate
impacts on school facilities. By retaining such language, the county will be in a position to assist with
requiring mitigation from development projects for school facilities without first needing to complete a
lengthy process to amend the general plan.
Again, we thank you for the opportunity provided to comment on the proposed subdivision. Please do
not hesitate to call if you have any questions regarding these comments.
Si 4. t
R als,
Super
Cc: Salvador Garcia, applicant
Honorable Jack Sieglock, Supervisor, 4`h District
Members of the SJ County Board of Supervisors
