`-
Mr. Chester Hurst
February 15, 2005
Various debris was observed on the property during the site inspection on December 14, 2004,
including tree and grass trimmings, construction debris such as doors and windows, discarded
automobile tires, and general trash including an old lawnmower. Of these, the automobile tires and
old lawnmower are considered potential environmental concerns if not removed. Copies of site
photographs are included in Attachment 1.2.
The subject property is not listed on any databases in the Radius-Map report provided by EDR as
having any current environmental concerns.
3.4 Past Potential or Known Off-site Sources of Contamination
Four Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) sites are located within '/< mile of the property.
The four sites: Boulevard Auto Service at 2151 Country Club Boulevard, Chevron at 2103 Country
Club Boulevard, Kwikee Foods at 2081 Country Club Boulevard, and a site located at 2210 (3.
` Country Club Boulevard, are located south to southeast of the subject property. The property
located at 2103 Country Club Boulevard is also listed as having had historical USTs.
` 3.5 Current Potential or Known Off-Site Sources of Contamination
Other than the sites listed above, no additional current potential or known off-source sources of (3.5)
contamination were identified.
` 4.0 EVALUATION OF PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF CONTAMINATION
IDENTIFIED AT OR NEAR THE SITE
` Asbestos Containing-Material: Asbestos material identified in the construction materials remaining / 1
on site after the May 2003 were removed from the site and disposed of by Del-Tech Environmental
in November 2003.
r
Discarded Tires: The tires appear to be in good condition and relatively inert. However, ash wastes
from similar tires have been known to be a source of hazardous materials at other sites. No burned
tires were observed on the property.
Abandoned Lawnmower: The old lawnmower could be a source of contamination in the form of
unused gasoline and/or motor oil. However, the lawnmower did not appear to be leaking any oil or
fuel, and no soil staining was observed on site.
Nearby LUST Sites:None of the sites listed in the database report are expected to impact the subject
site. Groundwater contamination from these sites are not expected to migrate more than several
hundred feet from their source.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Of the potential or known contamination issues discussed in Section 4.0 above, only the discarded
tires and old lawnmower have the potential to directly impact the property. However, both of these
L
\\GZA_FS\VOL_I\DATA\GROUNDZETEIASEI\Iimi[edpha IWURST.doc
