5.3 Description of soil litholag3as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
industry standard protocol: The soil in this area is classified as San Joaquin Sandy Loam as
' stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, California as provided by the United States
Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service.
5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The San Joaquin Sandy
Loam has very slow permeability thus percolation rates were varied as demonstrated by the passing
+ of all shallow percolation tests. (See Appendix.)
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
6.1 Site Map Showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each
Parcel: Five shallow percolation test holes were prepared, one on each proposed parcel. No deep
percolation tests were necessary.
L:
6.3 Description of the Date,Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole, Including
Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak
(Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and 8 inches
in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with County Standards.
The shallow holes were prepared by Mike Toy of Dillon &Murphy on November 2, 2009. On
i. November 3, 2009 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started. The holes were filled with
E 12 inches of water over the gravel and at this time Environmental Health Department was notified
of the start of the test.
x
6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak
Period (Hole Still Intact,Hole Dry, Depth to Water Remaining in Hole,Etc.): On November 4,
2009 the five shallow test holes were dry. Six inches of water was added and the holes were
deemed suitable to continue. All five shallow tests passed the minimum county requirements.
6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth, diameter,
2" gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation tests conformed to
San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02.
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (Including Readings) Was Provided With REHS
Verification Signature. The Rate Was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading:
See Appendix for Test Result Form.
j SHALLOW TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
ll
1 20.833 MIN./IN.
2 35.714 MINJIN.
j 3 50.000 MIN.IIN.
l.1
4 19.231 MINJIN.
5 35.714 MIN.IN.
E1
3
cA00301Soil Reportl209
E
