The minimum acceptable detention time is 1.0 days. Therefore, a <br /> 1,200 gallon septic tank is adequate. <br /> Primary and 100% Replacement Filter Bed Area <br /> The filter bed area is calculated in the procedure described in Section 8.7 of the San Joaquin <br /> County Sewage Standards and EHD Document 42-01-004: Calculation Requirements for Commercial <br /> Septic Systems: <br /> Base Tank Capacity(BTC)= 1,200 gals <br /> Lineal Feet of Leachline (LFLL) = 1,200 BTC + 150 ADF x 0.225 Soil Factor based on clay loam <br /> soil, or a silty clay/clayey silt= 303 LFLL JJ rr <br /> Filter Bed Area=303 x 3.5 = 1,000 square feet. Note.--A factor o 3.5 is used to calculate filter bed �Yc <br /> area since the effluent accepting soil is not sand <br /> _(3)_gttdnot clay(4 l ut rather a clay loam-udzich <br /> is a silty clay—clayey silt, and there ore given a factor 3.5. The primary filter bed area is proposed <br /> to be rectangular in area: 10 ft x 100 ft= 1,000 sq. ft, and manifolded in the center so that half the <br /> effluent is distributed 50 feet to the north and 50 feet to the south. Therefore. each Infiltrator <br /> Chamber length will be 50 feet,long._ There will be three chambers on either side of the center <br /> manifold. <br /> The filter bed area may also correspond with the percolation test results. As referenced above, the <br /> application rate correlated with the shallow perc test results of 120 mpi translate to an application <br /> rate of 0.20 gals/ft'/day. Using the ADF of 150 gpd,we find: 150 gpd-0.20 gals/ftZ/day = 750 sq. <br /> ft. filter bed. Therefore, the filter bed size of 1,000 sq. ft. is adequate based on the test results <br /> obtained. <br /> The 100%replacement area is directly south of the primary filter bed area, and is also to consist of <br /> 1,000 sq. ft.
