Kuhl & Associates and provided by the client. The report identified no recognized environmental
conditions on the subject property. However, it did state that "all accumulated organics and
redoxymorphic soils [should be removed] from the bottoms of on-site ditches, irrigation water and
wastewater ponds" for geotechnical reasons as well as to mitigate the potential formation of methane
gas.
3.110 Clayton Group Services Pipeline Investigation
NOA contacted Michael Hurd of Clayton Group Services"regarding the ongoing investigation into the
former Shell pipeline on the subject property. Mr. Hard provided the workplan which guided the
investigation,as well as three maps showing Clayton's sampling locations with detected contamination
circled. The largest area of contamination is located at the southwest comer of the agricultural ponds
` (Appendix G);Mr. Kimbrough indicated that this location is where an irrigation pipeline crossed the
former Shell pipeline.20 A final report from Clayton is not expected to be complete until the beginning
of November.
3.1.11 NOA DairyInvestigation
I
At the request of Global Investment and Development, Inc.,NOA is performing a Limited Phase II
Investigation concurrently with this investigation. The aim of the Limited Phase II is to determine
whether the manure collection and storage areas on the subject property have adversely impacted soil
L and groundwater, and to determine whether fuel constituents have impacted soil in the vicinity of the
shop buildings due to vehicle fueling and maintenance activities. NOA prepared a workplan dated
September 30, 2005 (Appendix G), obtained a permit through EHD, and collected the soil and
groundwater samples on October 13, 2005. Final analytical results are not yet available; preliminary
17 Personal Communication,March 5,2004.
'8Wallace Kuhl&Associates,November 1,2004,Environmental Site Assessment,Mountain House Machado
Property.
y 19Personal Communication,September 7,2005.
'y pPersonal Communication,September 6,2005.
10
Y
'044
1L
