L <br /> LOctober 17, 2005 <br /> NOA Project Number: E05120A <br /> L <br /> • Two septic systems and one domestic well remain on the subject property. <br /> LTwo transformers which were not observed to be marked PCB-free were noted along the <br /> subject property boundaries. <br /> L 3.4 Past Off-Site Sources of Contamination <br /> L No above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property were <br /> identified from past uses of surrounding properties, except for the following: <br /> L The adjacent property to the northwest of the subject property is listed on the SJ-1C database <br /> for an ongoing investigation into releases from the former Shell crude oil pipelines at that <br /> location (the extension of the former pipelines which cross the subject property). <br /> LA property one-quarter mile south of the subject property is listed on the EHD's LDP/Non- <br /> LDP Sites database because of ongoing investigation and remediation at the site of a raptured <br /> LChevron crude oil pipeline. <br /> • A diesel spill from a big rig accident took place at the intersection of Mountain House Parkway <br /> L and Grant Line Road in 2003,and a drug lab was discovered on an adjacent parcel to the north <br /> of the subject property in 1998. <br /> L Surrounding properties have been used for agriculture and as dairies. Agricultural operations <br /> may utilize chemicals, and dairies may contribute excessive quantities of nitrate to soil and <br /> groundwater. <br /> L3.5 Current Off-Site Sources of Contamination <br /> L No above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property were <br /> identified from current uses of the surrounding properties, except for the following: <br /> L Surrounding properties continue to be used for agriculture; agricultural chemicals may be <br /> applied to these properties. <br /> LSurrounding properties utilize private water wells and septic systems. <br /> 4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES <br /> L, Two Phase II investigations are currently taking place on the subject property,one into the former Shell <br /> pipelines and one into the former dairy operations. The results of these investigations may provide <br /> answers regarding whether impacts to the subject property have taken place from these past activities. <br /> L <br /> 12 <br /> L <br /> L <br />
