K L E I N F E L D E R
• A gravel parking area was located east of the produce stand. Light staining was observed
throughout the parking area and is likely due to the parking of vehicles. The staining
would likely be considered deminimus under ASTM standards, and is not expected to
have an adverse impact on the site.
L • Several 5-gallon containers of waste oil and light staining was noted along the western
wall of the produce stand. No leakage or spilling is observed on or around the containers.
Although the containers are not currently expected to have an adverse impact on the site,
Kleinfelder recommends that the containers be removed and disposed or recycled of in
accordance to local, State and Federal regulations
• Public utilities including electrical transmission lines, and underground gas and
petroleum pipelines are located throughout the site. Electrical transmission lines are
located along the western edge of the site. Two PG & E natural gas lines are located in
the eastern portion of the site. The first is located along the southern and eastern edges of
L the site and the second is located trending north/south, along the tree line dividing the site
into eastern and western portions. A Chevron pipeline is also located in the western
portion of the site. Exact location of the pipeline is not known, but appears on
topographical maps trending in a southeastem/northwestem direction through the western
portion of the site. Flagging for a petroleum pipeline was also observed near the central
irrigation canal, in the western portion of the site and is likely part of the same line.
L According to Mr. Larry Whitehead of Chevron, the pipeline was installed in 1945 and is
used to transport crude oil from Kettleman City to Martinez. To the.best of Mr.
Whitehead's knowledge, there haven't been any incidents involving the pipeline and
there are no reported incidents from contacted governmental agencies. The utilities are
L not currently expected to have an adverse impact on the site. If an incident involving the
public utilities were to occur in the future (i.e. any ruptures, leakage or spillage), Pacific
Gas and Electric (PG and E) or Chevron would typically be responsible for the cost of
L cleanup.
L • A dry canal is located near the southern edge of the site. There is no evidence of any
staining or leakage within the canal and it is not expected to have an adverse impact on
i the site.
` • Several concrete ventilation pipes are located in the southwestern corner of the site. The
ventilation pipes are likely associated with onsite irrigation and are not expected to have
Lan adverse impact on the site.
• The southwestern portion of the site is in a depression. No staining, evidence of leakage,
L odors or piles of soil are observed in connection with the area of depression and it is not
expected to have an adverse impact on the site.
L • Another irrigation canal is located in the central part of the western portion of the site,
trending in a north/south direction. No staining or evidence of spillage is observed in or
around the canal and it is not expected to have an adverse impact on the site.
