F3.1
ENTIFICATION OF ALL PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES \i
F CONTAMINATION
ion of the methods used to research and investigate the potential or known above-
gand below ground sources of contamination at the site include the following:
The first source of environmental information is the EHD Envisions Program Records. I
These documents provide all available public environmental information on leaking
underground storage tanks and hazardous materials release surrounding the subject
property. No listings were noted for"Tone Ranch" or"Polk Ranch' or for the physical
addresses/APNs listed on the Title Page.
The second informational gathering source is direct observation of the entire property, and
the Environmental Questionnaire found in Appendix B. The Questionnaire documents
environmental information obtained directly from Mr. John Polk. He has lived, and has
been familiar with all on-site activities most of his life and is the most knowledgeable of
activities that have taken place on and around the subject property for this time period.
The third informational source is the Geotracker Site List from the State Water Resources
Control Board for underground(USTs) and leaking underground fuel tanks (LUFPs). No
USTs or LUFTs were noted on the Geotracker Site List in proximity to the site.
The fourth informational source is the 2003 Groundwater Lines of Equal Depth and
Elevation Maps found in Appendix C illustrating the depth and directional flow of the
underlying groundwater. The depth is approximately 105 ft MSL. Groundwater elevations
are very flat in this locale and flow direction is difficult to determine. Mosher Creek may
have some influence on directional flow. Regarding flood information from Mosher Creek,
a portion of the area is within Zone A (100 year flood zone contained within the channel
and within Zone B (area within 100-500 year flood zone) and within Zone C (area of
minimal flooding) per FIRM Panel 0602990310.
r§ 3.2 Description of all past on-site potential and/or known above and below ground sources of
contamination identified on the property include: 1.) Two upright fuels tanks and one
waste oil storage tank, 2.) Nitrate from agricultural crop fertilization and agrichemical
residues from crop production, 3.) Nitrate origination from the on-site boarding of
approximately 25 horses and three septic systems,4.)PCBs from electrical transformers.
There is an extremely slight potential of DDT residual insecticide from farming operations
that may have taken place on the property decades ago, although this is somewhat
improbable and inconsequential. Any minute residual pesticide concentrations are
inconsequential in my professional opinion because the vast majority of the property will
/ remain in agricultural production and not be developed into residential lots.
✓ § 3.3 Description of all current on-site potential and/or known above ground and below ground
sources of contamination identified at the project site are included in Section 3.2
LL
Page-4-
Chesney Consulting
