2.2 Proposed Development
► 2.1, 25 /'Gros
It is proposed to split the Site into a two-acre homesite parcel and a=4esigrreted
reamer. Mr. Lagorio indicated that the uses of the Site will remain unchanged. Z)
♦4u,-L
2.3 Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as relatively flat,
agricultural land. The property is located at an elevation of approximately 57 to 60 feet
above mean sea level- A driveway is depicted leading from Jack Tone Road west to a
cleared area at the southwest corner of the Site. Mormon Slough is depicted to the
north, and an intermittent stream is depicted to the south. Surrounding properties are
shown to be open and agricultural land with scattered building clusters. This map is
included as Plate 3 in Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1937,
1952, 1963, and 1975. Three additional photographs, dated October 1998, September
2002, and June 2009, were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
In the 1937 photo, portions of the Site appear to be irrigated pasture, dry pasture, and
orchard. Several structures can be seen in a cluster at the southwest corner of the Site,
and a driveway lead to them from Jack Tone Road. Mormon Slough defines the
northern property line, and a small creek defines the southern property line. The
surrounding land is orchards and pasture, with occasional rural residences.
In the 1952 photo, a greater portion of the Site is planted with orchard. It appears that
two large areas within the orchard have been cleared for replanting. A new structure
can be seen about two-thirds of the way up the Site on its eastern side, on the parcel
excluded from the current investigation.
In the 1963 photo, the cleared areas on the Site have been replanted with orchard. The 4
largest structure at the southwest corner of the Site is no longer apparent; several
smaller structures can now be seen in the area. A new building cluster can be seen on
an adjoining parcel to the east.
LOGE 1316 Page 2
