Swanson:
On February 19,2010, Brook Handel of Dillon&Murphy Consulting Civil Engineers
` Requested a letter from the San Joaquin Agricultural Commissioner's Office confirming two
Parcels of land totaling 60,6 acres, located East of Jack Tone Road and South and North of
Mosher Slough(see attached map)meets the CAL. GOV. CODES 51201: California Code
Section 51201 (4).
"Land planted with fruit or nut-bearing trees, vines, bushes, or crops which have a nonbearing
period of less than five years and which will normally return during the commercial bearing
period on an annual basis from the production of un-processed agricultural land production not
less than two hundred dollars($200)per acre.
On March 1,2010 at'10:00 AM, Senior Agricultural Biologist,Steve Dinardi examined
The 60.6 acre plots of land. Biologist Dinardi found the plots to be planted with young walnut
trees with an irrigation system in place for production. The orchards under normal conditions'
should have a crop in production within 5-10 years. The current San Joaquin County 2008
Agricultural Report lists the average yield per acre of walnut meats to be 2.30 tons. The 2008
Agricultural Report lists the average price per ton of walnut meats is$1,700.
If the walnut orchards growth proceeds properly they will meet or exceed the CAL.
