Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2015), the Site has been used for agriculture since 1937 or earlier. Based on
aerial photographs reviewed, the house at 12385 South Jack Tone Road was
constructed prior to 1952; the garage to the southwest of the house was likely
constructed around the same time. Ms. Van Groningen stated that the main house on
the Site (12151 South Jack Tone Road) was built around 2005.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to Ms. Van Groningen, two septic systems are currently located on the Site,
one at each house.
Proposed Septic System
Ms. Van Groningen indicated that no new construction is planned for the Site.
On-Site Septic Permit History
Two septic system permits for the Site were identified at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department:
• April 2005 permit for new residential septic system. The system utilized one
1,600-gallon septic tank, three 60' leach lines, and three 42"-diameter by 25'-
deep seepage pits (12151).
• November 2009 permit for addition of one 50' leach line and two 36"-diameter by
25'-deep seepage pits to existing residential septic system (12385).
Copies of the permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately four square miles surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that two or
more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of orchards and agricultural land.
LOGE 1513 Page 2
