PA-0300258 OF VALENTIN
ALONZO (APN: 065-020-36) (ADDRESS: 13088 JACK TONE ROAD,
LODI)
The project is to establish a farm services business on a 4.78-acre parcel (Use Type:
Farm Services). Specifically, the service provided is farm labor contracting. In addition
to one main farm-labor contractor, the business will consist of four (4) farm managers
and a variable number of farm workers depending on the season. According to the
applicant, the farm-labor contractor and farm managers will be the only individuals on-
site. All farm-workers will be dispatched to the various farms on a daily basis. None of
the farm-workers or farm managers will reside on the property.
All of the proposed buildings exist and include the following:
• One 1,100 square foot single family residence for the owner
• One 1,593 square foot building to be converted into an office
• Two storage buildings at 648 square feet and 100 square feet, respectively.
The parcel has a General Plan designation of A/L (Limited Agriculture) and is zoned AL-
5 (Limited Agriculture-5 acre minimum). The site is located on the east side of Jack
Tone Road, 1,050 feet south of Harney Lane, east of Lodi.
Operational Characteristics
The Community Development Department requests additional information from the
applicant regarding the operation of the farm services business. Specifically, how are
the stored items (i.e. portable toilets, trailers, etc.) transported to the various work sites?
Do the farm managers transport the equipment? Is this done on a daily basis? Are the
trucks and vans stored on-site driven only by the farm managers? On average, how
many contract farm workers are employed at one time? Do the contract farm workers
come to the project site at any time? If not, how will the applicant ensure that the
workers do not park at the project site on a daily basis? All of these questions need to
be addressed prior to action on the Site Approval application.
1
