KENNETH ERWIN
MANTCCA
Dear Loree:
ALLAN FETTERS
$TOCKTON
GERARD FONDSE This district has reviewed SA 92-34 and makes the
RIPON
following request for consideration regarding the
ROBERT FULLER
LDGI proposal:
JANET L. JAMES
LATXROR
1. The site plan shows a proposed fenced area for
GERALD SCXILBER
ff<ALGN chickens that encompasses an existing low spot. The low
CHRISTOPHER K. ELEY spot is approximately 1 foot below the existing drainage
LEGAL ADVISOR
grade, which could provide for rainwater and water
accumulating from use of the facility to collect. This
condition could ultimately create mosquitoes if the water
stands longer than 72 hours . It is preferable to not have
standing water on the site proposed to hold chickens.
2 . The site plan does not indicate if chicken manure
will be stored on site. If the applicant proposes to
store manure on site, t`.e storage should be managed so
that flies and mosquitoes cannot breed. All manure should
be stored so surface water is not contaminated. Surface
waterways such as Paddy Creek and Bear Creek should be
protected from contamination at all times.
Please review the above items for possible inclusion
for requirements of the proposed plan.
S ' el
John R.
