Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to the Tentative Parcel Map prepared by Quartaroli & Associates (2012), one
septic system is located on the Sife (Plate 2).
Proposed Septic System
According to Mr. Van Groningen, no new construction is planned for the Site. However,
County regulations may permit new construction on Parcel 1 at some point in the future.
Any new structures would utilize new septic systems.
On-Site Septic Permit History
No permits related to septic systems for the Site were identified at the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department. One septic permit was identified for the Site
address, however, the permit most likely refers to the parcel currently bearing the
address of 15176 South Jack Tone Road, not part of the Site.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarthTM was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 13 or
more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of orchards and agricultural land, with scattered rural
residences. Several cattle facilities are also located nearby.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic systems in the area
utilize leach lines or filter beds. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this
report.
Expected On-Site Maximum Septic Tank Usage
Maximum expected septic usage on the Site would be from the existing commercial use
and any future commercial or residential uses. No construction is planned at this time.
Septic system design should be based on the On-Site Wastewater Disposal Standards
(2003) or other engineering recommendations.
LOGE 1226 Page 2
