EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This study is made in conformance with the requirements of the Environmental Health
Department of San Joaquin County. The proposed subdivision contains four lots and a
remainder. Percolation tests have been completed on all four parcels to determine if the soils
present will support single family residences of unknown size.
PERCOLATION TESTS
Percolation tests commenced on March 2003. Testing on Parcel 3 was satisfactory All the
holes on Parcel 1 contained water to such an extent it was obvious later testing would be
required. Parcel l tests failed.
On April 10,2003 Parcels 1 &2 were again tested with satisfactory results. The test holes were
drilled on higher ground, approximately 650' easterly from the centerline of Jack Tone Road.
On April 18,2003 Parcel 4 was tested with satisfactory results at the 25'level. The residence on
Parcel 4 is under construction and the septic system has been installed. We were not able to
observe the type of soil encountered during the installationB&g .';- 2"-'qdar.5
The following comments are applicable to the parcels indicated:
Parcel 1 & 2: The higher ground was tested and the location is approximately 650' easterly from
Jack Tone Road. The ultimate location of the septic tanks is not known. It may be necessary to
pump the clear effluent from the septic tank to the leach field, depending on where the
residence(s)are located.
Parcel 3: Each lot is approximately 1100 feet ong. It is unknown where the residence will be
located. Parcel 3 may be able to use gravity flow to the leach field,as it was not necessary to drill
on higher ground for the percolation tests.
Parcel 4. This parcel has a pond located northeast from the residence. It was decided to perc an
area south of the residence to increase the distance from the pond. The we"located on the
north side of the residence. Surface water in past years has drained thru the Van Mar Farms property
westerly under Jack Tone Road and continuing generally westerly. Over the years the channel has
been filled in somewhat and water tends to stand on Parcel 1 and Parcel 2. Cattails are growing in
this low area. While this area is not in the 100 year flood zone,it may contain water all winter and
the soil may contain above average moisture during the summer.
