V February 25, 2002
Job Number:LGO1-397
Page 8
V
were drilled utilizing a 4-inch diameter truck mounted auger rig. The casing used or the test was
2-inch diameter PVC pipe with an open end on the top and bottom. Perforations were made on
` approximately the last 12 inches of the casing. Six(6) inches of"pea gravel"was placed in the
bottom of the hole, the casing was installed, and one(1) foot of"pea gravel"was backfilled in
the annular space. The percolation test borings was pre-soaked 24-hours prior to the test.
A four(4)hour percolation test was conducted for each hole. The percolation tests were
observed by Mr. Larry Godinho of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division on
December 11, 2001. Both of the percolation tests did not achieve a satisfactory percolation rate.
Percolation Test: Potential new septic system site located along Jack Tone Road
Two (2) soil borings were drilled on new property obtained through the lot line
adjustment in an orchard located north of the Chinchilo Fruit Company facility along Jack Tone
Road. The borings and percolation tests were excavated to evaluate the suitability of the soils for
use with a potential new septic system. Plate I identifies the location of the two borings. The
borings set at a depth of 19 feet and a depth of 3.5 feet. The following boring log describes the
` soils and the depth which the two percolation test holes were drilled.
Table 5.
Soil Boring Log B4 and B-5.
(Unified S ' lassification System)
Depth(FI) B 4 B-5
0-5 Dark browns silt with clay(ML).
