Anderson&Associates, Inc. (NOA)
to address the requirements of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB)
Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs) Order No, R5-2003-0178. :As stated in the WDRs, the
purpose of this report is to "summarize the effluent monitoring data for the year 2004 and ...
evaluate whether the continued discharge of wastewater to the unlined pond has the potential to
degrade water quality."
FBackground
Morada Produce Company,L.P. (Morada Produce) is a vegetable packaging facility which packages
onions, asparagus, and cherries. Wastewater is usually generated from February through June.
Asparagus and cherries are processed through separate water wash lines located in dedicated
buildings. All processing water and stormwater generated at the facility are collected and drained to
the unlined wastewater storage pond.
I
Wastewater monitoring began at Morada Produce on April 19, 2004. Influent flowed into the pond
between the dates of April 19 and June 7, 2004. Though the WDRs allow Morada Produce to apply
wastewater from the.pond to the surrounding walnut orchard for irrigation,no wastewater was
applied to land during the period between April 19 and December 31, 2004, according to Henry
Foppiano, owner of Morada Produce.
r
PLODI ■ SACRAMENTO ■ MODESTO
ri
ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION 902 Industrial Way,Lodi,California 95240 ■209.367.3701 ■ 209.369.4228 fax E www.noandcrson.com
