The fourth informational source is the USDA Soil Maps found in Appendix D illustrating the soil
type under the property. The surface soil structure is predominately-an Archerdale clay loam `
(4107), which has highly beneficial properties for the mitigation of agrichemical impact through
biological decomposition processes. The groundwater depth.will be discussed in the Soil
Suitability Study. Regarding flood information, Sanguinctti and Associates has determined the
kproperty is in Zone C -an area of minimal flooding.
§3.2 Description of all past on-site potential and/or known above and below ground sources of
contamination identified on the property include: 1.) There has never been an above ground or
underground fuel storage tanks(AST LUST)for as long as the Morrissey's have owned the
property, nor was there ever an AST/UST to their knowledge on the property. Fuel tanks that
may have been on the property prior to the present ownership are unknown and have not been
documented. 2.)Nitrate from agricultural crop fertilization are of an unknown concern at this
time.
Environmental Fate Data for the agrichemical materials used on the property was obtained from
the U.C. Davis and Oregon State University Extoxnet System. The Fate Data indicates the
applied agrichemicals have comparatively short half-lives.
The following chart summarizes the available Environmental .Fate.Data for that has been applied
to the subject property. Noted times of duration are maximum values observed. The Fate Data is
highly specific for various environmental conditions, and is normally expressed as half-lives in
terms of days.
PESTICIDE TYPE SOIL, WATER
APPLIED TO THE PERSISTENCE PERSISTENCE/
PROPERTY THREAT TO
GROUNDWATER
l Asana Insecticide 15 -90 days 21 days
Esfenvalerate No Threat to GW
Rally Fungicide 15 - 90 days Unknown
Myclobutani l
Weevilcide Fumigant Not Available Not Available
(Discontinued)
Omite Insecticide Not Available Not Available
Paraquat Herbicide 1 - 174 days ' 12- 70 days
No Threat to GW
The predominate wind direction through the region is east-southeast. West-northwest, or
upgradient wind shed is composed of agricultural production land including row crop and
orchards. This wind direction, along with the fact that agrichernicals cannot be applied_ 1)
during windy conditions, ensure that the likelihood of impact to the property from
unintended pesticide drift is somewhat unlikely.
Page -5-
Chesney Consulting
