Jacob Brack Road. This modification includes the addition of
an approximately 1,800,000 sq. ft. warehouse/distribution and bottling facility along with
f increasing crushing capacity to 200,000 tons.
This marks a major step in our efforts to consolidate our winemaking facilities that are
currently located in Napa County, causing unneeded truck shipments and operations
inefficiencies.
4
Sutter Home Winery has been entirely owned and operated by the Trinchero family since
1948. For years we struggled to survive, but hard work and perseverance paid off when
Bob Trinchero became the first vintner to make White Zinfandel in 1974. The success
of that wine not only made Sutter Home (Trinchero Family Estates)one of the largest
wineries in the country, it also started our long relationship with the Lodi grape growing
area and San Joaquin County in general.
For years we developed winemaking and distribution facilities in Napa County to
accommodate our growth. Grapes and bulk wine from San Joaquin County and other
Central Valley counties have been trucked to our Napa Valley facilities. As the winery
grew, so did our need for production facilities. It became apparent that there was a need
for a production facility in the San Joaquin County, close to our grape source, in order to
operate more efficiently. On July 16, 1998,the San Joaquin Planning Department
` approved UP-98-8,which allowed a 100,000 ton crushing facility at 18667 N. Jacob
Brack Road in Lodi. That project has been underway since then, and presently the
facility is crushing 30,000 tons of local grapes and we hope to ramp up to the 100,000 ton
level over the next 2 to 3 years.
Due to our success in recent years,we have come to outgrow our bottling and
warehousing capabilities at our Napa County facilities.
SUTTER HOME WINERY, INC.
POST OFFICE BOX 248 - ST.
