It is assumed the <br /> concrete lift stations are watertight at this time. Concrete tanks, especially oftwo-piece <br /> ion,are prone to leakage, and all tanks are prate to leakage particularly at the connection <br /> points of the inlet and outlet piping. Concrete tanks must be coated with an epoxy-type seal to <br /> create watertightness, which is subject to eventual decomposition. Fiberglass and plastic tanks offer <br /> one-piece construction,and are known to have greater watertightness properties. <br /> Fiberglass tanks offer probably the best all-around watertightness because the inlets and outlets are <br /> molded monolithically with the structurally watertight tank itself The use of flexible pipe <br /> connectors assists in preserving watertightness.
