RECEIVED
SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY AUG 2 6 1991
FOR THE
DAVID AND BARBARA DODSON PROPERTtNVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
PARCEL MAP NO. MS-91-93
1300 EAST JAHANT ROAD, ACAMPO, CA. 95220
Prepared By
Walter E. Curtis
Civil Engineer
C. E. # 11584
418 Matthew Plaza
Lodi , California 95240
Phone : ( 209) 368-4159
PROJECT DESCRIPTION : To separate out a 2 . 39 Acres Marcel from a
larger agricultural parcel for a homesite.
TEST RESULTS :
Parcel No. Test Hole Percolation Rate Minimum Usable
N0 . (Minutes Per Inch) Disposal Area
( Square Feet )
1 lA 60 12 , 000 + Pits
1 1B 120 12 , 000 + Pits
Remainder 2A 60 12 , 000 + Pits
Remainder 2B 80 12 , 000 + Pits
Soil Profile •
Using the difference in elevation of the natural higher ground
and a drainage swale, two holes (one on the high ground and
the other in the drainage swale) were excavated for the Soil
Profile Study and no water is evident to a depth of 14 . 5 feet .
See the attached "Field Note Sheets"and "Parcel Map" as well
as the text of this report for specific soil layer , character
and location details .
Well Water Analysis : See attached "FGL Environmental Letter"
dated August 14 , 1991 as well as the text
of this report .
RECOMMENDATIONS :
Only two of the four 3-foot percolation holes tested conformed to
the San Joaquin County Public Health Service , Environmental Health
Division minimum requirements . Due to the sloughing that occurred
into Test Hole No . 1A and the variability and marginality of the
soil porosity test results , it does not appear advisable to permit
the use of a subsurface horizontal leaching field solely and
effluent is recommended to be discharged, in combination with a
subsurface horizontal leach field, into seepage pits at a maximum
depth of 25 feet . The sewage system recommended is a minimum 12 , 000
square feet minimum usable disposal area plus pits in addition.
